OVERVIEW
Modern Olympic legacy omits one substantial fact from the past: Olympic Games were strictly local. The film "Olympic Halftime" reflects on the places and ideas where Olympic Games have already taken place and are supposed to return, raising the question: what impact did they have on the environment, urbanism, architecture, and the lives of local people? And does this align with the overall idea of Olympic legacy? The film, created by Japanese-Czech filmmaker and media artist Haruna Honcoop, shot mainly in Japan, China, Greece and France takes you on an adventure through these places and ideas, all within the key framework: shouldn't Olympic Games localize once again and truly embody the idea of promoting peaceful development of societies?
