OVERVIEW

This short documentary follows a Czech team taking on the legendary Dakar Rally in the Classic category with an equally legendary car – the Citroën 2CV, affectionately known as the “Duck.” The film’s main protagonists are driver Barbora Holická, navigator Lucie Engová, and mechanic Tomáš Neruda. But this is not simply a story about the race itself. Instead, it offers a calm and authentic glimpse into the team’s everyday life – their regular jobs, the constant search for funding, endless repairs, and all the ordinary challenges that come with months of preparation. The film reveals just how much small, often invisible work it takes simply to make it to the Dakar starting line. The race itself is therefore portrayed not as the ultimate challenge, but rather as a well-earned reward for everything that came before it. The documentary allows viewers to get to know the team without embellishment – through humour, exhaustion, doubts, determination, and all the moments in between. Simply as they really are.
